We recently received a notice from the City of Lakewood that we must remove seventy beautiful ash trees because they have been infested with the emerald ash borer beetle. You can learn more about these trees here.
This is devastating to our church, but we are resolute in doing what is best for our campus and city. We will remove the trees, replant new ones, and renew them. We are scheduled to begin the removal the week of November 18.
The estimated cost for the tree removal and replanting is $50,000. The Mile Hi Church Foundation has generously committed $25,000 as a matching gift to assist in this project. This means we are looking for seventy-two individuals to contribute a gift of $350 to sponsor the removal and replanting of trees on our beautiful campus. Your gift will not only bless the future of Mile Hi Church, but you can know your investment will live on in the legacy of all the new trees that will be planted here in the spring.
