Transgender Day of Remembrance
A Celebration of Life and Identity
Wed., Nov. 20,
6 – 9:15 p.m., Community Center
Join Jefferson Center and Mile Hi Church as we honor Transgender Day of Remembrance. Since 1999, this has been a day to remember the lives of the transgender people who were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
This event is an opportunity for you to connect with LGBTQIA+ resources in the community and learn how we can continue to fight alongside transgender people to create inclusive and safe spaces for all.
There will be a movie screening of Will and Harper, an R-rated movie. The story is important to tell, but some of the content may not be appropriate for kids younger than 17 years old. We will not offer childcare during the screening. If you are planning to bring your kids, please keep this in consideration.
The rest of the event will include a panel discussion and candlelit honoring that will be appropriate for all ages.
