We envision generations partnering in the recognition of individual wholeness and collective integrity; co-creating a community of peaceful, compassionate and responsive world citizens.

We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive school community through active practice of honoring and supporting the whole child (physical, cognitive and social/emotional) and their family. We believe each child is a capable, competent and uniquely special being. Our total child approach uses developmentally appropriate practices in a challenging and joyful environment. We respect and appreciate nature and offer an aesthetically pleasing and mindful environment. Children are nurtured in their individual and collaborative work experiences. We focus on important life skills including caring for self, others and the world around us. Children’s growth and learning is documented and shared in authentic ways, through our displays, shared photos, family conferences and collaborative discussions. We are committed to partnering and supporting each individual child and their family, actively working to respect, honor and celebrate each member or our community.

Mile Hi Children's Enrichment Center

We must become as little children. How we long for a return of that simple trust in life which children have: in their minds there are no doubts...The life of the child is natural goodness.

Ernest Holmes

Mile Hi Children’s Enrichment Center (MHCEC) is a Licensed preschool serving children ages 2.5 – 5. Our education and curriculum foundation is inspired by the Reggio Emilia and Montessori philosophies.

These philosophies honor the unique development of each child and support a whole child approach to learning. Relevant hands-on learning opportunities are provided to allow the children to explore and discover in rich, stimulating environments. The teacher serves as a guide in the classroom as well as a partner to the child as they explore learning together. The teacher creates and provides curriculum in response to observing and listening to the child’s interests, passions, and developmental readiness. MHCEC honors the child’s sense of wonder of the world around them and provides rich opportunities to ignite the child’s natural love of learning.

Our rich curriculum develops core skills in science, math, language, handwriting, art and music. We value health and wellness and offer learning activities that inform the children about nutrition and physical fitness. We have created an “outdoor classroom” which includes numerous discovery areas, climbing surfaces, and a wide variety of plants, bushes, and trees allowing children to explore, play and imagine.

MHCEC also features Love and Logic ©, a philosophy that supports teachers in the classroom with management techniques that promote self control, decision making, and responsibility. We believe that by contributing to their personal growth through Love and Logic © teachings, children develop self-respect, self-esteem, and the ability to make positive choices. The MHCEC will focus on the child’s inner strengths and help to educate them in physical, emotional, and social aspects of their lives.
